Story of day 4
Written by Jacinta GunGun
For me, the Chaordic Café was a deeply moving and heartwarming experience. That day, I joined 11 other participants to share our personally meaningful projects. I presented my idea, “The Feminist Reverie and Gathering,” and through curiosity-driven questions, my partners helped me clarify the core needs and values behind it. Gradually, the project’s outline became clearer. This kind of support filled me with the courage and determination to keep moving forward.
At the start, I felt a trace of unease. After all, this project touches on feminism—a complex and important topic. My biggest challenge was figuring out how to turn ideals into concrete actions, with clear goals and timelines. But in the Chaordic Café space, my partners listened attentively, without criticism—only honesty and encouragement. Some even said that having a bit of utopia was perfectly fine!
What struck me most was how intangible thoughts were transformed into something tangible and clear. Some partners even drew my ideas for me—it was astonishing. That power of “making the invisible visible” was a profound realization. Courage, I learned, is not just the force of struggling alone—it is the strength that comes from knowing there is a group of people genuinely behind you, supporting you in any action that benefits the community, regardless of whether they speak the same language or grew up in the same culture. I felt truly seen—not just in a surface-level way, but with deep understanding and resonance.
It was as if my companions built a bridge to walk with me through chaos, connecting my inner world with the collective wisdom of others. Their perspectives and insights helped me distill the most essential parts of my project: the feminist reverie as a release of creativity, and gathering as a way to deepen each individual’s connections in the community through participation and acceptance.
The Chaordic Café revealed sparks of creativity in everyone, and collective wisdom shaped the project’s form. The other 11 participants brought forward plans rooted in love for their communities and a quiet loyalty to their ideals—each backed by sincere stories and missions. I truly wanted to learn about each one!
In this space, to be understood and held was a warm and real strength—one that became my motivation to continue. The gentle exchanges of listening and responding among us felt like a precious source of strength in facing today’s challenges. The Chaordic Café was not just about discussing projects; it felt like returning to the heart’s home—a place to rest the spirit and reclaim the inner power to act on what we believe in.
