Story of day 1

Written by Glen

The first training day started with introductions and shared lunch, setting a warm and welcoming tone right from the start. We began with a check-in exercise, where we were asked two thoughtful questions: “What role is most present to you right now?” and “Why did you decide to be here?” These questions immediately drew us to reflect, helping us open up and connect more deeply with the session.

During the storytelling segment, I shared a personal story about a mistake I made at work last year and its impact. Surprisingly, rather than feeling fear or anxiety, I found courage in my vulnerability. This realization was a breakthrough for me—I’m no longer afraid of making mistakes. Instead, I’m embracing challenges with a sense of calm and even joy. A decisive moment of self-awareness set the tone for the rest of the day.

We then explored the Chaordic path process, which is all about moving from chaos to order. One concept that particularly resonated with me was the idea of the “center” in the host circle. We placed natural items like leaves and stones in the middle, representing a focal point for our collective discussion and understanding. This simple act symbolized openness and the willingness to bring diverse ideas to the table. It inspired me to create a similar environment in my work, where open dialogue and creative thinking are encouraged.

Before dinner, we engaged in a sign-up practice session, where we could choose different session to work on, guided by steward coaching. This efficient hands-on approach allowed me to apply new techniques in real-time. One of the most memorable parts was the “harvesting” exercise, where we reflected on what we learned and shared our insights. This deepened my understanding and helped solidify the concepts we covered.

By the end of the day, I had taken some time to reflect on the entire experience. This training didn’t just equip me with new skills—it reignited my passion for tackling challenges head-on. I realized that approaching the unknown with curiosity and resilience can foster not only my growth but also the growth of those around me.

There’s a new energy, a willingness to face challenges directly, and a culture of support and encouragement. It’s clear to me now that this training wasn’t just about skill development and mindset transformation. It’s given me a deeper understanding of what it truly means to lead and inspire others.
