ABOUT ART OF HOSTING 2024
What to expect when joining the Art of Hosting Training in 2024?
How will we learn and practice together?
This training is an opportunity to step into participatory leadership. We will work on the edge of ‘praxis’ – the process by which a theory, lesson, or skill is enacted, embodied, or realized through direct application.
Participants will be invited to co-host processes with the support of the Hosting Team. Everyone is free to choose where to step in as a practicing host, a harvester, a participant or an observer.
Joining the Art of Hosting, you will also become part of a global community that practices, steward and co-create these evolving methodologies and philosophies. You can read more about the global Art of Hosting.
Language of the training
The wish of having a localized training with careful translation that consider the nuance of both culture and languages feels important to us too. However, cooking a dish without any tangible memory of how the ingredients taste is not easy.
This first Art of Hosting training in Taiwan is about experiencing a participatory-designed gathering, so we can slowly build capacity for practitioners who will be familiar with the AoH language and culture. Therefore, the primary language of this training will be offered in English.
However, with the desire to bring the practice to more people in Taiwan, the local organizing team will try their best to support those who might need to discuss about certain concepts after the daily program. In the past, participants also help each other out in overcoming the language barriers during the program. We encourage you to use language that feels comfortable for you whenever possible.
We’re dreaming of localized trainings with on-site interpreters and translated materials in the future. AoH Chinese-speaking communities are a dream we’d like to see come true, so we’re inviting more curious souls to join this endeavour! Participating this time also means that you are joining the organizing and the host team in a new experiment, a new step forward for the local Art of Hosting community.
